Pin A Quote

One of the most popular thing to do on Pinterest is to share quotes. Web strategist Adam Rotman understands this and so he built a free and easy tool called "Pin A Quote." It allows you to transform a simple phrase on a web page into a Pinterest graphic, at the same time capturing the URL of where you originally got the quote.

All you have to do is go to the PinAQuote.com website and drag the bookmarklet to your bookmark bar and start pinning quotes.

Here's how to use it...

If you want a bit more control of how the graphic looks like, you could splurge for the Pin A Quote PRO version. It'll set you back $1.99, and although I'm all about the "free", I think you can afford it.

Not just for quotes

1. Lots of cool articles you want to bookmark may not have any suitable graphics to pin... so create one, just like I did for this article.

2. If you want to create a totally unique quote that ISN'T online, just select the "Pin A Quote" bookmarklet and type it in manually. Note that the default URL for this graphic will be "pinaquote.com." Just change it once it's pinned (and before you post it on Facebook or Twitter).

Although I have happily added "Pin A Quote" to my social media arsenal, it isn't perfect. As a graphic artist, I would love to have more control over the size and positioning of the quote and attribution, and even the chance to add a background graphic... maybe we can look forward to that in a future Pin A Quote SUPERPRO :)
